Unrivaled in Every Way Imaginable: the 2009 7 Series

The fifth-generation 7 Series is ready for unveiling! You can now pre-order this technological marvel today! The 7 Series will now be powered by a 400-hp twin-turbo 4.4-liter V-8 engine mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. There will be no V6 to be found anymore. When it comes time to put the 7 in Drive mode, drivers will now use BMW's console-mounted joystick gear selector which replaces the column-mounted shifter of the previous-generation model. Menus are now displayed on a larger 10.2 inch high-definition central display. GPS navigation software is now stored on a hard drive, which can also be used to store about 13 gigabytes of music (auxiliary, USB, and iPod interfaces will also be included).

The safety technology ante has been upped with active cruise control that can now bring the car to a complete standstill, allowing it to be used in stop-and-go traffic. Other safety features include a lane departure warning, blind spot detection, a head-up display, automatic high beams, night vision (now with pedestrian detection), as well as side view and backup cameras. Side view cameras are mounted at the front corners and show the images in the control display when traveling at low speeds.

We could write an entire book about this amazing vehicle and it's technologically advanced features, interior luxury amenities, and breath-taking exterior styling which incorporates a fusion of elegance and aerodynamic design, but for you to see it in person will be a whole different story! BMW 7-Series: the Perfection of Luxury is almost ready

BMW offers the 5th generation of the 7 Series flagship sedan, giving fans an opportunity to enjoy the model that combines luxury amenities with sheer driving dynamics. The new 7- Series will make its North american debut at the 2008 Los Angeles International Auto Show in November.

The 2009 BMW 7-Series lineup will offer two models, the 750i and 750Li. The L version gets a 5.5-inches longer wheelbase than the 750i. Powering both models is a 4.4-liter twin turbocharged V8 rated for 400 hp. Standard transmission will be a 6-speed automatic.

The 7- Series boasts typical BMW styling with a wide muscular stance, smooth flowing lines, athletic proportions and the famous "signature" kidney grille. The car now comes equipped with Efficient Dynamics technologies as standard. The roof, side panels, doors and bonnet are made from aluminum to maintain a lightweight advantage.

Other innovative technology includes the world's most advanced Night Vision system. BMW was the first manufacturer to fit Night Vision in a premium car, now upgraded to include a pedestrian recognition system. The 7-Series is also the world's first car available with a Side View camera system, which heightens driver awareness in addition to Park Distance Control to aid slow speed maneuvering. For 2009, blind-spot alert, lane-departure warning, a head-up display, side view and rearview cameras, and automatic high beams are new. A 40-gigabyte hard drive for the audio and navigation systems is also new for the 2009 model year.
