The most sustainable automobile company - who else but BMW!
The Sustainable Assets Management Group (SAM), in it's latest evaluation of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes, has rated BMW as the world's most sustainable automobile manufacturer. This is nothing new to BMW, for, this is the 5th consecutive time BMW has achieved this rating!
Another feather - The BMW Group is the only company in the automobile industry to have been listed in this sustainability index every year since it was established in 1999!
All this recognition is but the result of the BMW group's Management's decision to incorporate sustainability as one of the company's core strategic principles, way back in the year 2000. From the development of fuel-saving and alternative vehicle concepts through clean production processes to green recycling practices, sustainability has been the idea.
BMW Group is constantly striving to improve sustainability. Every proposal is measured against the corporate goal of sustainability, and at the highest management level, a Sustainability Board has been established. This board meets twice a year to discuss and adopt the sustainability strategies and activities proposed at the operational level.
Automobiles and beyond, BMW continues to leave behind milestones in its journey. Setting standards which others hope to achieve, BMW has proved yet again that a true winner not just wins, but sustains the victory as well!
